If The Little Battle was The Young Folk’s first foray into the music world, First sign of Morning is their brooding ‘dark’ album. Not that it’s totally void of pop punch, of course.
According to Tony, some of the songs were “influenced by 1980s martial arts movies” [listen to Through the Wilderness]. This and the album’s artwork has led some to call this The Young Folk’s Japanese album. The Land of the Rising Sun gets the First Sign of Morning.
